In an event held on Tuesday, Apple has officially revealed the new models of iPhone for this year — the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and the iPhone 11 Pro Max. The first one being the cheaper iPhone and the two being high-end ones.
The models will succeed the 2018 iPhones, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR.
As expected, Apple has made changes to the battery life, camera system, and the hardware of the latest phones. However, appearance-wise, there’s not that much of a difference compared to the 2018 versions.
The two high-end iPhones have an improved camera system, including three rear cameras, as well as an upgraded battery life than their counterparts.
According to the company, the 11 Pro will last longer than XS by four hours while they extended the 11 Pro Max battery life to five hours longer than that of the XS Max.
Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, advertised that these models are “the most powerful and most advanced iPhones we have ever built, with a stunning design.”
With regards to one of the factors that concerns the customers, the company decided to pattern their cost after the previous ones, with $999 and $1,099 as starting price of 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max.
Apple’s compromise to stick with these prices resulted from experiencing a decline in sales of up to double-digit percentage within the past three quarters.
The company, on the other hand, has made some adjustments in response to such market challenges. The iPhone 11, also with a dual-camera system, has an entry price of $699, which is considerably lower compared to XR’s starting price of $749.
Aside from the new lineup, Apple also announced its new iPad, with a 10.2-inch retina display, with a $329 starting price. This seventh generation iPad is quite larger than the previous model which has a 9.7-inch screen.
Apple’s surprise didn’t stop there as they also revealed their newest Apple Watch Series 5. It features always-on mode which only works when it’s on a wrist, with Apple’s watch faces, and with the Workout app. This smartwatch starts at $399, or $499 with cellular.
On Friday, the latest iPhones will be available for pre-order and will be in stores on September 20.
