Get ready to continue invading the north this weekend! Benguet, a place known for its flower farms and chilly weather, will finally reopen its tourist spots which have been closed as a precaution against COVID-19.

Eco-tourism attractions in Benguet that were closed on Feb. 4, such as Sakura Park and the Northern Blossom Flower Farm, will welcome tourists again starting Saturday.

Atoc Mayor Raymundo Sarac requires tourists to pre-register with the local government as indicated in an executive order issued Thursday.

He also said that tourism sites and business establishments should also have water, soap, and hand sanitizer or rubbing alcohol.

China reported on Friday that the death toll for COVID-19 had already reached 2,233.

In the Philippines, the Department of Health (DOH) already confirmed 3 cases, including the death of a patient from Wuhan.

The Health Department is observing eight patients from the Cordillera region for a possible COVID-19 case. Still, according to the DOH website, there are no new cases of the disease in the country.
