Canadian pop star Carly Rae Jepsen brings her ‘The Dedicated Tour’ to Manila at the New Frontier Theater on October 23.
Her concert is presented by Wilbros Live, and tickets will be available this coming August 31 via TicketNet.com.ph and at all the TicketNet outlets nationwide.
Fans expect to have a night filled with Jepsen’s chart-topping hits, including Cut to the Feeling, Call Me Maybe, I Really Like You, Party for One, Boy Problems, Run Away With Me, and Emotion.
The success of her critically acclaimed album E•MO•TION in 2015 was seen in those countless memes of her quality music and her Grammy-nominated blockbuster hit Call Me Maybe from her U.S. debut album Kiss.
Jepsen’s Call Me Maybe did not only climb to No. 1 on the iTunes Single charts in over 47 countries and sold over 20 million singles worldwide but also marked Diamond in the U.S. The single had also been referenced many times by everyone from former secretary-of-state Colin Powell to Cookie Monster.
‘The Dedicated Tour’
In Jepsen’s new album Dedicated, her pop music signature vibe remains.
While its predecessor album E•MO•TION was inspired by the 80’s synth-pop classic, Dedicated is more influenced by 70s feels.
Jepsen was sure at one point that she was making a disco opus.
“The title was going to be ‘Disco Sweat.’ I really bought into it,” she shared with a laugh.
However, she had a change of heart because of her travels over the past two years, including her writing trips to a Swedish countryside.
“It was spring and there were fields of flowers, homemade breads, and kittens running everywhere.”
There was this Eat Pray Love throwback solo vacation in Italy she mentioned as well.
“I had so many songs. I needed some space to walk around, reflect, eat pasta, and get to know myself a bit.”
