One of the highlights of Catriona Gray in her Miss Universe 2018 journey is her patriotic stylings which include unique jewelry she designed, pushing demand to the point of piece imitations are being sold online or on sidewalks.
The beauty queen gets a bunch of questions where to buy the genuine ones every time she’s being seen wearing gold, pearls, or diamonds that project a touch of the Philippines.
Even celebrities like Regine Velasquez and Karla Estrada own a pair of the “Alab at Dangal” ear cuff they showed off on their TV appearances, which is the same design that Gray wore on the Miss Universe coronation night.
She also had a similar ear cuff depicting the sun rays and three stars of the Philippine flag during the Binibining Pilipinas pageant.
On the preliminary round of Miss U, she showcased her “Pearl of the Orient” dangling earrings. It has sun design on it.
Her patriotic styling through jewelry was once again seen during her farewell walk as the Miss Universe before crowning the successor, Zozibini Tunzi of South Africa.
A hand accessory inspired by the Philippine flag wowed the fans as she was the one, once again, who designed the piece.
Catriona’s New Beginnings
Since her reign has finally come to an end to embrace new beginnings, Gray finally has time to answer the demand for the release of her personally designed accessories.
Those three jewelry pieces are her designs and some of which are being sold online as imitations.
Gray confirmed during a media conference after her contract-signing with ABS-CBN that she is venturing into jewelry-making, aside from her other endeavors pursuits, for her to build a career in the Philippines.
“I am putting up my own jewelry line eventually,” Gray told ABS-CBN News. “I did design my cuffs, my jewelry, and my handcuff, just to carry a little bit of [the] Philippines with me every time I was on the international stage.”
“I also have some other ideas, so I am working on it now. Hopefully, I’ll be able to share that with everyone very soon,” she said.
Catriona will focus first on her writing debut entitled “Conquering Your Universe.” It is a collaboration between her and ABS-CBN Books that talk about life lessons gained through her pageant experience.
