DOLE brings out mobile app for Filipinos worldwide

Department of Labor and Employment launches the DOLE mobile app that aims to offer various services to Filipinos across the globe in just a tap.

Labor Secretary Bello III said that the DOLE mobile app is a tool made for Filipino workers, especially for the overseas workers so that they may easily access the latest news and regulations of work, and emergency contacts to the Philippine Overseas Labor Offices (POLO) in the country they are in.

“This application is intended to provide a major channel for our workers and OFWs to get in touch with DOLE and the POLO. Through the use of modern technology, they can relay their labor-related concerns and complaints,” Bello said.

Services Offered by the DOLE mobile app

It has various service offerings such as the ‘wage calculator’ that enables workers to compute wages for overtime, holiday pay, and deductions.

Moreover, it also includes a ‘submit an inquiry’ form which allows users to send an inquiry, a report, or complaints/violations of their employers to the department.

Users may also access hotlines, and details of labor offices abroad to get in touch with in times of emergency.

For job seekers, the app also features job listings for a convenient job vacancy viewing and application.

Having it on the phone, workers may get to know their rights and benefits by reading the ‘Handbook for Workers’ Statutory Monetary Benefits – 2019 Editio

As of now, the DOLE mobile app is available on Android but will soon be available to both Android and iOS users for free.

The app will be formally launched next month during the 86th anniversary of the Department of Labor and Employment.
