Another intensity 7-8 earthquake shook North Cotabato with magnitude 6.6 this morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.
The PHIVOLCS reported that the earthquake was tracked from 26 kilometers (km) northeast of Tulunan, Cotabato at 9:04 a.m. It had a depth of 8 km and was a tectonic origin.
Now, PHIVOLCS warns people of possible damage and aftershocks.
The previous earthquake left at least 6 persons dead and some injured.
Tulunan Mayor Pip Limbungan promptly suspended classes in all levels in public and private schools. The suspension is until tomorrow to let the inspection of structures for possible damages happen.
Tremors were further felt in other parts of Mindanao, including Davao and Kidapawan City.
Patients in Kidapawan City hospitals were evacuated to the city square.
