Though Maine is now more open in sharing a glimpse of her relationship with Arjo Atayde, the press cannot hold back questions about the inactive AlDub loveteam of Maine Mendoza and Alden Richards.
Maine and Alden have been pursuing paths differently for the past 2 years. But if given a chance, Maine wants to work with the other half of the loveteam once again.
“I hope dumating ulit ’yung tamang panahon in the future,” she said, using the famous catchphrase of AlDub.
“Right now, we’re exploring. We have been trying out different things or taking advantage of opportunities to work with other actors, from other networks. I feel that’s a good thing because that means growth for the both of us,” the actress added.
This year, the two starred in two different movies; Mendoza with Carlo Aquino for “Isa Pa with Feelings,” meanwhile, Richards starred in “Hello, Love, Goodbye” with Kathryn Bernardo.
Contrary to rumors, the friendship of Maine and Alden has always been solid. But she admitted that there was a moment that the fans’ expectations and hopes weighed the relationship shakey.
“It was tough back then because people were expecting something more, something else from us. As a result, we didn’t know how to act in front of the camera,” she added.
Maine is looking forward to catching up with Alden when both of their schedules aren’t as hectic.“Right now, we don’t get to see each other as much these days. He’s rarely in ‘Eat Bulaga!,’ because of the series he’s doing. But when we do get a chance, we can talk about our personal lives,” Maine said.
