Videoke and karaoke sessions are no longer allowed from Monday to Saturday 7 a.m to 5 p.m.
The ordinance aims to prevent loud noises that will distract students in their online classes. Manila Mayor Isko Moreno signed Ordinance No. 8688, according to reports. This bans the use of karaokes, videoke machines, and other sound-producing devices. It lasts from from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. from Monday to Saturday.
Moreno said he approved the ordinance after receiving complaints from parents of students. They claim being distracted by neighbors using loud sounds since public schools started having classes on Monday, October 5.
First-time violators shall pay a fine of P1,000 while second-time offenders will pay a fine of P2,000.
For the third and succeeding offenses, a fine of P3,000 will be given on those who will violate.
