In “America’s Got Talent: The Champions,” Marcelito Pomoy fell short to take the top spot.
The Filipino singer finished his AGT journey as a third runner-up Tuesday (Manila time) despite giving his best for his finale performance last week.
“He just wanted to say thank you. Thank you so much to everybody. This is a big opportunity for him. Thank you so much,” said Pomoy’s wife, who joined him on stage after the announcement.
Judge Heidi Klum also commended and sent love over Marcelito Pomoy.
“I love you so much. You have the most beautiful voice. I should say the most beautiful voices inside of you. You are a champion. Thank you so much for sharing your talent with all of us,” Klum said.
The acrobatic dance group V. Unbeatable was announced as “America’s Got Talent: The Champions.”
Sandou Trio Russian Bar placed fourth runner-up, whereas Tyler Butler-Figueroa and Duo Transcend finished second and first runners-up, respectively.
Pomoy had named V. Unbeatable as his biggest rival for the title even before the grand finals.
V. Unbeatable, who placed fourth in the “America’s Got Talent” 14th season in 2019, went straight to the finals in “The Champions” after getting a golden buzzer.
Marcelito Pomoy sang “Beauty and the Beast” for his final performance last week in the style of Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson’s original duet.
Judges Heidi Klum, Alesha Dixon, and Howie Mandel, who gave him a standing ovation for his performance, gave him praise.
Simon Cowell also commended the performance of Pomoy but said it was “predictable.”
