Actress, model, athlete, and now beauty queen Michelle Dee was named as the Miss World Philippines 2019 during the coronation night at the Araneta Coliseum, Sunday.
Aside from the crown, Michelle also took home special awards including Miss Blue Water Spa, Miss Myra E, Miss Best Skin and Miss Bench.
At the question and answer portion, Michelle answered with full confidence when she was asked what invention from the last century does she think should make a comeback.
“It would probably be polaroid films. I’m an avid lover of art. I love photography and I love the kind of energy and feel that polaroids give me, just being able to lay everything out and go down memory lane is such a different feeling,” she said.
She will be sent to London, United Kingdom to represent the country in Miss World 2019 on December 14.
The beauty queen material indeed runs in the blood of Michelle as she is the daughter of actress and Miss International 1979 Melanie Marquez and the cousin of Winwyn Marquez, who became the First Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas in the Miss World Philippines 2017 and eventually was crowned as the Reina Hispanoamericana 2017.
Other celebrities were also crowned during the pageant: Isabelle de Leon, a former child star, as the Miss Multinational Philippines 2019 and Kapuso actress Kelley Day as the Miss Eco Philippines 2019.
Here are the other queens who bagged titles in the Miss World Philippines 2019:
