Nicki Minaj’s father killed in hit-and-run

Nicki Minaj‘s father died after being struck by a hit-and-run driver near New York City. The police confirmed this on Sunday.

Robert Maraj, 64, walks on a road in Mineola, Long Island. The tragedy happened at 6:15 pm (2315 GMT) on Friday. Nassau County Police Department said this on their statement.

The driver also left the scene of the accident. People took Nicki’s father to the hospital. The hospital pronounced him dead on Saturday.

“The investigation is also ongoing,” police added.

The statement did not specify Maraj’s relationship to Nicki Minaj. However, a police spokesman also confirmed he was her father.

Minaj, 38, was born in Trinidad and Tobago. The rapper grew up in the Queens borough of New York City. Also, ten Grammy awards nominated during Nicki’s career.
