Taylor Swift is newest artist with most American Music Awards.

Taylor Swift makes history after she surpassed Michael Jackson’s record for most wins at the American Music Awards (AMAs).

Swift bagged the Artist of the Year Award and beat the ‘King of Pop’ as the show’s most-recognized performer. Tying Jackson’s 24 awards, Swift won the Favorite Pop/Rock Album and eventually outplayed him as she was named Artist of the Decade.

Practically, it was the Lover singer’s night from beginning to end as she sang a medley of her hits before accepting the grandest prize of the annual ceremony.

In her speech, Swift thanked her label for letting her express herself freely as an artist. Her remarks came in the thick of her battle against the men who now own the master recordings of basically all her songs before she moved to Universal Music Group’s Republic Records.

She released her first six albums under Scott Borchetta’s Big Machine Label Group, which was recently by famous music manager Scooter Braun.

“This album really felt like a new beginning, and I also really love my record label, Universal and Republic. Monte Lipman, Lucian Grange, thank you for being so generous to me and allowing me to make whatever music I want to make,” Swift said.

“As a songwriter it’s so thrilling to me that I get to keep doing that. And I’m so excited I get to perform for you all later.”

The performance she was talking about headlined the news as she took to social media about two weeks ago that Borchetta and Braun were not allowing her to perform her old songs on television.

Later, Big Machine denied her accusations, clarifying that “recording artists do not need label approval for live performances on television or any other live media.”
